Open Access Week: Open Access for Research

Open Access Week: Open Access for Research

Open Access resources are gaining more and more popularity, especially as publishers charge more and more to access the journals they publish, and schools such as the University of California decide to forego these big deals in favor of alternatives. This workshop will cover how to navigate scholarly resources outside of traditional library databases, including:

  • Locating and evaluating Open Access resources, including books, journals, and teaching materials
  • Copyright and Open Access
  • Preprint servers and Institutional Repositories
  • Web-based research tools, such as Endnote Click and Unpaywall
