Educated Citizenry/Critical Information Literacy Faculty Workshop & Discussion

In this workshop and discussion co-sponsored by the SEEDS Advisory Board and University Libraries, faculty and librarians will share with each other how they define, teach, and assess educated citizenry, information literacy, and critical information literacy.  We will discuss the Educated Citizenry / Critical Information Literacy (CIL) rubric; classroom activities that foster student engagement; and ideas for assessing the Educated Citizenry/CIL SEEDS Value.

Faculty teaching a course that addresses the Educated Citizenry (Critical Information Literacy) SEEDS Value - or teaching a SEEDS Foundations or Explorations course that includes (critical) information literacy skills as part of its Student Learning Outcomes - are encouraged to participate.  Please bring your syllabus and assignments/activities for your SEEDS course(s).
