In 1943, Frank Lloyd Wright was asked by Hilla Rebay, art advisor to Solomon R. Guggenheim, to design a new building to house Guggenheim’s collection of non-objective art. The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation collects, preserves, and interprets modern and contemporary art, and explores ideas across cultures through dynamic curatorial and educational initiatives and collaborations. With architecturally and culturally distinct exhibitions, publications, and digital platforms, the foundation engages both local and global audiences. Today, the museum continues to be a landmark destination that attracts visitors from around the world.
