Discover Your Topic

A good topic for a research paper should be interesting (current, relevant, and important) and proportionate (not too broad and not too narrow).  In this workshop we will use some research tools to help us think about how to select interesting and appropriately-sized topics.
How to think of a topic is an interesting and complex topic in itself, and it involves thinking about what sources are available, what kind of research has already been done, and what people are interested in reading (and these three types of question are related). And a topic, once selected, demands continual tweaking and revision, based on the research and writing that you do. Please join me for a look into topic creation.
